Activate cash payments for the Shopify POS app
By default, cash transactions are activated. If you no longer want to accept cash, then you can deactivate cash transactions. There are no additional fees or charges to the customer or to the store for cash payments.
Steps:
From Shopify POS, tap ≡ > Settings > Payment settings.
Under Other payment types, tap Cash to activate or deactivate it.
Activating payment by gift card for the Shopify POS app
Gift cards are a good way to increase your sales. In addition, gift cards help to promote your store when your customers buy them for their family and friends.
If you want to sell physical gift cards, then you must buy them from the Shopify Hardware Store.
Before you can sell gift cards or accept payments by gift card, you must activate gift cards as a payment method in the Shopify POS app.

Before you can activate gift cards for Shopify POS, you must activate the gift card feature on your store.
Steps:
From Shopify POS, tap ≡ > Settings > Payment settings.
Tap Gift Card.
Activate the following options:
Accept gift card payments to sell or accept payments from digital gift cards that you can print and email to customers.
Accept physical gift cards to sell or accept payments from physical gift cards. You'll need to order a supply of these if you haven't already.

Activating custom payments for the Shopify POS app
If you want to accept manual payments that aren't processed by Shopify, such as checks, store credit, or third-party terminals, then you can set up a custom payment method.
Tip
For better payment tracking, when you set up a third-party terminal, you can create one custom payment option for the terminal itself (for example, TD terminal), or you can create custom payment options for each of the card types that is accepted by the terminal (for example, Visa or Mastercard).
Shopify tracks the following order details for custom payment methods:
order number
associated customer information
line items
order total, including taxes
order date and timestamps
custom payment type used
Note
When a customer uses a custom payment method, the funds are not processed by Shopify. Custom payment methods are for payment tracking purposes. Verify that any external payment solutions are fully set up with their respective processors before you enable custom payment methods.
Steps:
From Shopify POS, tap ≡ > Settings > Payment settings.
Under Custom Payment Types, tap Add custom payment type.
Type a payment type name into the box, and tap Save.
Tap the toggle to activate or deactivate the custom payment type.
Tip
Shopify doesn't charge any additional fees when you process payments using custom payment methods.
Deactivating custom payments for the Shopify POS app
If a payment method is deactivated, then it doesn't appear as a payment option at checkout.
Steps:
From Shopify POS, tap ≡ > Settings > Payment settings.
On the Payment types screen, tap the toggle to activate or deactivate the payment type.
