In Canada, you can use the Tap & Chip Reader to accept payments from the following payment types:
Visa and Visa Debit
Mastercard and Mastercard Debit
American Express
Interac Debit
Apple Pay
Google Pay

Card payment limits in Canada
Note
Card purchase limits are set by card brands and issuing banks.
For Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit card purchases, there's a 250 CAD limit when the card is tapped directly. For cards associated with Apple Pay or Google Pay, there's no limit.
For most Interac debit, Apple Pay, and Google Pay purchases, there's a $250 CAD limit for tap payments. Which applies both for actual cards as well as Apple Pay or Google Pay payments.
Note
Banks in Canada are rolling out tap limit increases over 2021. Some cards might have a tap limit of $100 until the issuing bank updates the limit.
